We Forgot Poland

The soul-sucking vanity beast possessed me again last night and as it gnawed on my psyche I discovered yet another instance of the power of the Internets. Check this out. Now, my Polish is a little rusty, but I believe someone may be a bit disappointed that our debut CD is no longer a part of the Open Source Audio collection at archive.org (I had removed it once it became available to buy on iTunes and elsewhere). I have tried to rectify the situation, as you might have noticed, but who knows if it made any difference (that blog post is from 2005)?

So there you have it. I know that we have some Austrian fans at the moment, and I'd love to say that Honey White is making better progress in our eastward march than certain other overcompensatory maniacs, but I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, and I've only made it my business because of raging egomania (we're conquering the world, yo!).

Anyway, as Billy just wrote me, Happy Time of Mass Consumption, everyone! Oh, and happy New Year as well. 2007 is set to be the 6th year of Honey White-itude, and I know how excited that makes you all feel. Rock on.

Rose's Pawn Shop

This weekend Bryn and I caught up with Captain John Kraus in Fullerton, playing with his combo Rose's Pawn Shop, and good goddam, those boys can shake the shack. Definitely go see them if you are in LA and itchin' for some good rockabilly & bluegrass. Just how good are they? They made a Misfits song their own. They made an awful 90s kid-rap song a million times better. They let Cap'n John loose for not one, but two almost-a capella sea chanteys. Rose's Pawn Shop got all kinds of kudos from places like Billboard and TAXI and other such pompous king-making organizations, but don't let that get in the way. Even the gatekeepers get it right sometimes.

Videos are back

Just a quite note to say that the video section is working again. Lots of YouTube-based clips of us playing live from 2003 and 2004. Like say, this one:

Unprofessional (live from Musical Cafe TV, 4/22/03)

I've made a page for each Honey White DVD "release" (UCSB, Musical Cafe, Wildcat), plus one for random clips. It will definitely be easier to add videos from now on.
